2008 First marching band from the state of Maryland to compete in a BOA Super Regional competition and is named Super Regional Finalist (Georgia Dome, Atlanta, Georgia).
2004 First Marching Band from the state of Maryland to compete in the BOA Grand Nationals in Indianapolis, Indiana and named Grand Nationals Semi-Finalist.

2000 – Present Only instrumental music program in Carroll County, Maryland to have all Concert Bands and Orchestra receive unanimous Superior ratings at the District Band and Orchestra Festivals.
1997 – 1999 All Concert Bands and Orchestra have received Excellent and Superior ratings at the District Band and Orchestra Festival.
1997 – Present Jazz Ensemble receives Superior ratings at the State Jazz Festival.
2000 Wind Ensemble and Orchestra place first in Festivals of Music Williamsburg, Virginia competition.

2006 – Present Westminster High School (WHS) Music Department named Grammy Signature School National Semi-Finalist.
2004 WHS Music Department was selected as the 2004 MENC/MMEA Exemplary Music Program Award Winner. This award is given to one Maryland school annually.
Community Involvement
2003 Selected as the Carroll County Marching Band representative for the Governor Robert Ehrlich’s Inaugural Parade.
Annually American Legion Carroll Post #31 Halloween and Memorial Day Parades.
Annually City of Westminster, Maryland – Fallfest Parade.
Annually Carroll County, Maryland – Special Olympics Ceremony.
Annually Middle School recruiting performances.
Annually The Westminster High School Homecoming Parade.
Annually Jazz Ensemble performs at many convalescent and nursing homes for older Carroll County citizens.
Annually Select Choir/Vocal Ensembles perform for numerous civic organizations throughout the school year and malls during the holiday season.
1998 Only band in Carroll County to attend the Metro Food Markets World’s Largest Marching Band Participant and was awarded $5,000 in receipts due to participation and support.
School Involvement
Annually Marching Band performs at all home football games and Pep-Rallies.
Annually Concert/Jazz Band and Chorus Concerts and performances at in-school assemblies.
Annually All groups perform 3 major concerts each year. The chorus and orchestra perform pieces together.
