2009  Marching Band wins USSBA Maryland State Class IV Open Championship.
2008 First marching band from the state of Maryland to compete in a BOA Super Regional competition and is named Super Regional Finalist (Georgia Dome, Atlanta, Georgia).
2004 First Marching Band from the state of Maryland to compete in the BOA Grand Nationals in Indianapolis, Indiana and named Grand Nationals Semi-Finalist.
2004 WHS Music Department was selected as the 2004 MENC/MMEA Exemplary Music Program Award Winner. This award is given to one Maryland school annually.
2003 First Marching Band from the state of Maryland to win a BOA Regional competition (John F. Kennedy Stadium, Bridgeport, Connecticut).
2003 Selected as the Carroll County Marching Band representative for the Governor Robert Ehrlich’s Inaugural Parade.
2002 First Marching Band from the state of Maryland to win a TOB Group IV Atlantic Coast Championship (Lackawanna Stadium, Scranton, Pennsylvania)
2002 First Marching Band from the state of Maryland to become a Regional Finalist at a BOA Marching Band Regional (Youngstown University, Youngstown, Ohio).
